Investigator Intern/Forensic Analyst
The incumbent will be assisting the Washington State Attorney
General's High Tech Unit in the Consumer Protection division
with the investigation and research of matters related to Spyware,
Phishing, Spam, and consumer fraud. A minimum of 16 hours a
week will be required, between the hours of 8AM and 5PM. The
current internship position calls for someone the remainder
of fall quarter and all of winter quarter 2007.
Interns for this position are reimbursed for bus fare or round-trip
mileage. Reimbursement for mileage is .48 a mile.
Required Qualifications:
(a) Completion of EdCC CIS 200,
272, and 274.
Completion of CIS 201,
273, 275,
277 and 278
is a plus.
(b) Currently enrolled at EdCC.
(c) Grade point average of at
least 3.6.
(d) No criminal record.
(e) Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
(f) Ability to work independently
with minimum supervision.
(g) Ability to quickly grasp
new technical information and concepts.
(h) Experience configuring and
troubleshooting Windows systems, to include Windows XP Professional
and 2003 Server.
(i) Experience with the structure
and function of Windows DLL's and how processes run under Windows.
An advanced understanding of the Windows registry is a must.
(j) Experience capturing and
interpreting packets.
Desired Qualifications:
(a) Experience conducting forensic
analysis of Windows based systems.
(b) Ability to interpret HTML,
JavaScript, CSS, PHP, and XML.
(c) Experience using virtual
machines.
(d) An understanding of scripting
(e) Familiarity with the process
of Web hosting and registration
(f) Ability to create a database
