This is the capstone course for both the Information Security Degree and Network Security Certificate. This course includes coverage of the official Certified Ethical Hacker curriculum, and includes the Certified Ethical Hacker certification test. The Certified Ethical Hacker course itself normally costs anywhere between $2200.00 and $3200.00, but EdCC students pay normal tuition rates and the cost for the official CEH courseware only. This is a fantastic value as well as a great opportunity. Your instructor has delivered this training to both the military as well as federal law enforcement personnel needing to know the methodologies used by hackers worldwide. For a complete outline of the 22 modules that will be covered during the CEH portion of this course, please see the EC-Council Website.

The goal of the ethical hacker is to help an organization take preemptive measures against malicious attacks by attacking and testing the computer systems and information infrastructure. This philosophy stems from the proven practice of preventing information security related compromises by learning to think like a hacker. A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who understands and knows how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in target systems and uses the same knowledge and tools as a malicious hacker would, while staying within legal limits and having the permission of the data owner(s).

Additional Topics Covered Include:

  • Conducting a comprehensive and thorough security audit and cost-benefit analysis
  • Creating and critiquing security policies
  • Procedures for forming an information security organization/department
  • Selecting appropriate technical solutions for information security
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining ongoing auditing
  • Developing and maintaining an information security awareness program
